World War I color photos
A while back I found a couple of sites that had color photograhs from World War I. I’ll let the sites outline the original sources. It is strange that black & white photos can add a ‘distance’ to the subject matter, both in time and connection, that color seems to ‘cure’.
Both pictures here come form World War I Color Photos. Be sure to click through all of David’s photos as well as follow his link to the Gallica site where he found the origial pictures.
I link to these sites now since several bloggers (and hopefully others) are reading through Ford Madox Ford’s Parade’s End. Even if you aren’t reading along with Ford’s book, please take a few minutes to view as many of these pictures as you have time.
